William R Moye, a seasoned trial attorney at Moye Law Firm in Houston, Texas, has spent almost 25 years mastering the art of courtroom battles and acquiring profound industry insights while showcasing an unwavering determination to tackle cases head-on. His practice centers on severe personal injury and wrongful death cases, often sparked by oilfield mishaps, industrial workplace incidents, primary trucking and transportation accidents, and product liability issues. His ability to deftly navigate and defend complex, high-stakes injury cases has made him a prominent figure in the Texas defense community.
Mr. Moye's courtroom adventures span the vast landscape of Texas, from the metropolises in Harris, Dallas, Bexar and Travis counties to the quiet corners of Glasscock County. He has argued cases in the energy-rich terrains of Midland, Ector, Reeves and Brazos counties, as well as in crucial refining areas like Nueces, Jefferson, Galveston and Orange counties. His legal proficiency extends across Texas's four federal district courts, covering the Lone Star State.
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Moye offers a distinctive insight into the global excess insurance market. His role often involved overseeing catastrophic claims for the London and Bermuda insurance sectors, where coverage can soar beyond $100 million. Few understand the intricate insurance layers and quota share allocations more than he does. He is acutely aware of the inner workings of high-exposure litigation, the reinsurance structures and the strategic reactions to policy limits or Stowers demands. He knows precisely what the excess insurance market requires to reach settlements.
In his career, Mr. Moye has been the lead trial counsel or defense liaison in numerous petrochemical refinery explosions resulting in severe injuries, often managed as MDLs or similar multiclaim consolidations. His leadership extends to countless transportation cases involving energy corporations, national trucking firms, truck brokers, shippers and third-party logistics companies. His representation also includes global automobile and tire manufacturers in product liability lawsuits nationwide, many within nationwide MDLs.
After earning a B.S. in biology from Marquette University in 1997, Mr. Moye pursued his legal education at Seton Hall University School of Law, graduating in 2000. Soon after, he embarked on his legal journey in Texas.
