Arpita Legha

A youthful and enthusiastic family law attorney, Arpita Legha is the co-founder and partner of Oxner Legha Law Firm in Jersey Village, Texas and surrounding Houston areas. Her passion for the law and determination to help families overcome their legal issues remain the cornerstones of her practice. She handles a variety of family law matters involving high net worth divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, contested child custody, child support, protective orders and alimony.

Ms. Legha has seen the stress and challenges a legal issue puts on her clients during a time of transition or conflict. She helps her clients make informed decisions by exploring every option available and clearly explaining what is at stake. She encourages communication between the parties and tries to resolve legal issues through mediation or negotiation. However, she understands that some issues cannot be resolved outside of the court and remains prepared for trial.

A native of Delhi, India, Ms. Legha attended the Naveen Jindal School of Management – UT Dallas and obtained her bachelor’s degree in finance before she turned 20. She then received her Juris Doctor from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Texas Southern University in 2013. Later in 2014, she earned her Master of Law degree in taxation from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.

Early in her career, Ms. Legha served as a judicial intern for Hon. Judge Josefina Rendon at the Harris County 165^th Civil District Court in Houston, Texas. She functioned as a research assistant at the Texas Southern University and gained extensive experience researching, writing and editing published legal articles. She worked as an associate attorney at a few other well-known Texas law firms before founding Oxner Legha Law Firm.

Ms. Legha is fluent in English and other South-Asian languages such as Hindi and Punjabi. Her background in business law and international tax planning helps her better analyze and anticipate financial issues faced by Texas families. She is an active member of the State Bar of Texas – Family Law Section.
