As a mediator, litigator and former Mississippi judge, Sarah P. Springer founded The Springer Law Firm to provide legal services for the people of Katy, Texas and the surrounding area. Ms. Springer's practice focuses on legal issues related to family law, divorce, and mediation. Her family law focus encompasses cases of child custody, possession issues, termination of parental rights, child support, pre- and post-marital agreements, adoptions, modification and enforcement of prior orders.
Access to justice is important to Ms. Springer: she was awarded the prestigious Suzanne Bartholomew Service Award from Fort Bend Lawyers Care in 2016. Ms. Springer was also recognized during her years in Mississippi, named Woman of the Year by the Meridian Star Newspaper in 1993, and received the Mississippi Bar President’s Award in 1994 as the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year. Ms. Springer is active in the legal community and has served as President of both the Fort Bend County Bar Association and the Katy Bar Association. She remains active in both the Fort Bend County Bar Association and the Katy Bar Association, and is also a member of the Fort Bend Family Bar, the Austin County Bar Association, and the Houston Bar Association.
While Ms. Springer was the Editor of the Katy Bar Newsletter, it won a Stars of Texas Bars Award in 2015. Ms. Springer was awarded the Katy Bar Association's Silver Jubilee Service Award in 2016 in recognition of her service to the legal community. Ms. Springer served on the Board of Directors of Fort Bend Lawyers Care for many years and served as Secretary. Ms. Springer is also a sustaining lifetime member of the Texas Family Law Foundation, and currently serves on the Professionalism Committee of the State Bar of Texas and the Professionalism Committee and Senior Lawyers Committee of the Houston Bar Association. She served as Chair of the Texas State Bar Professionalism Committee in 2020, and subsequently served in an advisory role. Ms. Springer was elected to the Board of Directors of the Fort Bend Family Bar in 2021 and remains on the Board. Sarah has also served on the Houston Bar's Senior Lawyer Committee and State Bar Professionalism Committee.
Admitted to practice in Mississippi and Texas, Ms. Springer graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She then went on to the University of South Carolina School of Law, obtaining a Juris Doctor in 1980 and completing the National Judicial College intensive jurisdiction course for new judges in 1995. Ms. Springer is a member of the Texas Bar College, an organization requiring active participation in continuing legal education which goes substantially beyond the minimum education requirement of the State Bar of Texas.
Along with serving the people of Katy, Ms. Springer represents those in the cities of Fulshear, Richmond, Sugar Land and West Houston, as well as people from Waller, Austin and Fort Bend counties.
