A former Assistant District Attorney for Gregg County, David E. Moore has focused on criminal defense since 1991 and is a founding partner with Holmes, Moore, Waldron, & Parrish, P.L.L.C. While as a prosecutor, he was named the 188th District Court’s Chief Prosecutor and the North Texas Region’s Narcotics Prosecutor of the Year. Practicing criminal defense now into a fourth decade, he uses all of his combined experience to fight for the rights of those who have been accused of committing a crime in Tyler, Texas, and Longview, Texas, and all of East Texas.
Mr. Moore’s practice is focused on a broad range of criminal law matters, including the following: misdemeanors, felonies, white collar crimes, bail and bond hearings, parole, criminal appellate, domestic violence, theft offenses, juvenile offenses, firearm offenses, violent offenses, sex crimes and DUI. He is admitted to practice in the state of Texas and before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
After graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, Mr. Moore attended Baylor University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 1984.
In 2017-2018 Mr. Moore had the great privilege of serving as president of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, which with over 3800 members is the largest statewide organization of criminal defense attorneys in the nation. Mr. Moore has also served as the chair of the Criminal Defense Lawyers Project which uses grant funds from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to educate and train criminal defense lawyers across the State. He is a frequent lecturer at seminars, and he has additionally served on the faculty of the Texas Trial College in Huntsville for more than a decade teaching young lawyers the skills necessary to represent the citizen accused. He has for over 25 years also been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Moore is AV Preeminent Rated. For his unyielding dedication and loyalty to his clients, he has been regularly recognized on both national and local news media.
