John D. Sloan is the founding partner of the Sloan, Hatcher, Perry, Runge, Robertson & Smith Law Firm with offices in Longview and Houston, Texas and in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mr. Sloan is an experienced attorney who enjoys pursuing justice on behalf of his clients. He represents clients in a wide variety of personal injury issues, including car and truck accidents, property liability, defective products, medical malpractice, wrongful death and pharmaceutical and medical device claims.
Born in Kilgore, Mr. Sloan is a native and lifelong resident of East Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 1977 and graduated from Baylor School of Law in 1980. After law school, he earned admission to practice in Texas state courts. He has since been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for all four districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Sloan has been widely recognized by publications like Texas Monthly magazine for his legal ability and successful track record. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in personal injury litigation. He has also been certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a civil trial advocate. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Northeast Texas Bar Association, the Texas Bar Foundation, the Gregg County Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the East Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice.
