Gonzalo Serrano

Gonzalo Serrano, a criminal defense attorney at Rosenthal Kalabus & Therrian in McKinney, Texas, serves clients in and around Dallas. Fluent in Spanish, he has had the privilege of representing numerous Spanish-speaking clients over the years.

A McKinney high school graduate, Mr. Serrano attended McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, where he earned a political science degree. Although initially intending to go straight to law school, he seized an opportunity to serve as a legislative intern during the 2007 legislative session at the Texas State Capitol. This further led to roles as a legislative aide and assistant clerk for the Texas Senate Higher Education Committee through the 2011 session. Mr. Gonzalo attended The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, graduating in May 2014 and becoming a licensed attorney in November 2014.

Beginning his legal career as an Equal Justice Works Fellow, Mr. Serrano served the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex via the Equal Justice Center (EJC), a nonprofit law firm aiding low-income individuals with employment-related legal representation. After a stint at the EJC, he joined the Dallas County Assistant District Attorney’s Office, following which he established The Law Office of Gonzalo Serrano, P.C., and later joined his current firm, Rosenthal Kalabus & Therrian. He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.

Mr. Serrano is a member of various legal organizations, including the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, the Collin County Bar Association, the Mexican American Bar Association of Dallas and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
