With offices in McKinney and Bedford, Texas, Ms. Draper and her team represent clients in Collin County, Denton County, Dallas County, Tarrant County and other surrounding counties in matters of mediation, divorce, child support, child custody, termination of parental rights, paternity, adoptions, and grandparents’ rights.  The Texas Board of Legal Specialization has board certified Ms. Draper in family law.

Ms. Draper is also an accomplished family law appellate lawyer.  Most notably, Ms. Draper has won two landmark constitutional parental rights case in the Texas Supreme Court. In 2020, Ms. Draper represented the prevailing father in In re C.J.C., a parent vs. non-parent custody case that has been referred to as the most important parental rights case in Texas history. In 2025, she secured another significant victory in Stary v. Ethridge, a pivotal case concerning the constitutional standards for issuing protective orders longer than two years that prohibit contact between a parent and minor child.  

Ms. Draper is a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and she serves on the Amicus Committee. She is active in the Family Law Sections of the Collin County Bar Association and State Bar of Texas and has served on the leadership team with the Collin County Bar Association’s Family Law Section. She also participates in the Collin County Women Lawyer’s Association, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and the Curt B. Henderson American Inn of Court. Beginning in June of 2023, Ms. Draper began serving her second three-year term on the State Bar of Texas’ Law Practice Management Committee. She also speaks regularly at continuing education seminars and bar association meetings statewide, particularly on the topic of parent vs. non-parent child custody litigation. Ms. Draper serves on the Family Law Council Appellate Committee for the State Bar of Texas, which reviews cases pending in the Texas Supreme Court that would have a significant impact on family law and makes recommendations to the Family Law Council regarding the filing of amicus briefs in such cases.

Ms. Draper is admitted to practice in the state of Texas and has set a goal of providing personalized, high-quality legal services for families while balancing a professional and personal life of her own.  Since starting her firm in late 2008, she has found her passion is in helping her clients through difficult situations to guide them to a successful, stable future.

In 2001, Ms. Draper graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations. She then attended law school at The University of Texas School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2004. During law school, she was The Review of Litigation’s notes editor and a Teaching Quizmaster.

  • In re C.J.C., 603 S.W.3d 804 (Tex. 2020)  - The Texas Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in favor of Ms. Draper's position in what is possibly the most significant parental rights case in Texas history.  Ms. Draper argued on behalf of a fit father that the trial judge violated his constitutional rights under the due process clause when she awarded rights and possession to a non-parent over the father's objections.  The Court agreed.  Nine organizations, including the State of Texas, have filed briefs as amicus curiae in support of Ms. Draper's position. Due to COVID-19, Ms. Draper participated in oral argument via zoom on April 22, 2020., 2020
  • Sargent v. Sargent, No. 02-24-00470-CV (Tex. App. - Fort Worth 2025) - Ms. Draper successfully defended the Husband in a divorce appeal filed by the Wife. Wife claimed she had revoked her consent to an agreement despite the parties' reading the agreement into the record and the court rendering on that agreement. The trial court's judgment was affirmed., 2025

  • In re Clay, No. 02-18-00404-CV We filed this petition for writ of mandamus on behalf of a father related to standing issues.  The child's mother had died.  The maternal grandparents intervened seeking joint managing conservatorship with father or, alternatively, seeking grandparent access.  The mother's fiance, who had lived with mother and the child for less than a year, also intervened seeking joint managing conservatorship with father.  The Fort Worth Court of Appeals granted the petition with respect to the grandparents, finding they lacked standing.  , 2018
