Michael R. Puhl

Focusing his practice exclusively on family law matters, Michael R. Puhl is the principal attorney at Puhl Law Group, P.C., located in McKinney, Texas. Providing representation to clients in Collin County and other parts of the Dallas metropolitan area, he assists people whose marriages are coming to an end and who are dealing with such divorce-related legal issues as child and spousal support, child custody and visitation, and complex asset and debt division. He encourages his clients to resolve these matters informally through negotiations, collaborative law or mediation if possible, but he provides aggressive courtroom advocacy when necessary.

Other family law matters that Mr. Puhl handles include post-divorce order modifications, parental relocations, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence, grandparents' rights and adoptions. He has been certified as a specialist in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2009, and he is also a certified family law mediator. Mr. Puhl obtained his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in 1982. He is admitted to practice before all Texas and Illinois state courts and before the Supreme Court of the United States. In 2006, Mr. Puhl was appointed by then-Gov. Rick Perry to serve on the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists. Mr. Puhl has also been a member of the board of both the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and the McKinney Community Development Corporation. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the Collin County Bar Association.
