Sharon M. Ramage established The Ramage Law Group in 1997 to exclusively advocate for the rights of families and children in McKinney, Texas. She focuses her practice on special education and family law matters such as adoption, contested child custody and support, contested and collaborative divorce, domestic violence, fathers' rights, grandparents' rights, parental relocation, marital agreements and asset division.
Having worked as a social worker early in her career, Ms. Ramage witnessed the heart-wrenching effects of conflict on families and children. Since 1992, she has channeled her passion into her law practice, continuing to support families and children in need. She works tirelessly day in and day out to ensure that her clients get what they need, with an additional focus on the well-being of the little ones.
Majoring in social work, Ms. Ramage pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated in 1988. Four years later, she received her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas. Fresh out of law school, she dove into the legal world as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Tarrant County. She tackled tough cases in the Crimes Against Children Division from 1995 to 1997.
Ms. Ramage has been a special education hearing officer and mediator for the Texas Education Agency. Other attorneys often seek her out for guidance. She is a frequent presenter at conferences, local bar associations, parent groups and disability associations, and has even served on the faculty of the National Administrative Law Judicial Conference as well as the National Academy for IDEA Administrative Law Judges and Impartial Hearing Officers.
Known for giving back to her community, Ms. Ramage is a part of Leadership Texas and Leadership Frisco and a board member of Lifepath Foundation. She is also a member of Curt B. Henderson American Inn of Court. Furthermore, she co-authored a book that tackled the topic of children and the law named "All About Texas Law and Kids," published by Texas Lawyer Press.
An accomplished professional, Ms. Ramage was honored among the 10 Best Attorneys for Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys for several years. She has been rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest attainable rating. Moreover, her firm was even handpicked as one of the Top 10 Family Law Firms by Attorney and Practice Magazine.
