Christy Lynn Hester began her legal career as a paralegal in 1992 and has worked for several outstanding and memorable lawyers. After 20 years in the legal field, working as a double-board certified paralegal, she decided to take the leap to law school. She started night school at Texas A&M University Law School and graduated in 2015. She then was admitted to the Texas Bar. She then returned to Ted B. Lyon & Associates to learn and grow as an attorney. Being a paralegal for 20 years prior to being a lawyer, she feels that gives her a certain advantage and rapport with her clients and her paralegals that most attorneys do not have.
Mrs. Hester's practice areas span a wide range of small to catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases in Texas. These include non-workers' compensation work injuries, dram shop cases, construction deaths, construction site injuries, trucking crashes, brain injury cases, dog bite cases, toxic mold injuries, and motor vehicle crashes. She only handles plaintiff cases, so her clients can rest assured that their opponents are unlikely to be former clients.
Since graduating from Texas A&M University School of Law, Mrs. Hester has worked hard to increase the number of courts she has been admitted to. In addition to the Texas Bar, she has also gained admittance to Arkansas, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
Outside of the courtroom, Mrs. Hester is currently the President of the Mesquite Bar Association, and has been since 2019. She continues to serve as a resource to aspiring paralegals and lawyers, judging local Moot Court/Mock Trial competitions and speaking to aspiring paralegals and new lawyers about her journey.
