An attorney at Ward, Myers & Stallings, Katy Stallings focuses her practice largely on divorce and other family law matters, but her experience extends to business litigation along with estate planning and administration. She joined the firm, located in Midland, Texas, in 2020, and she represents clients throughout Midland County and other parts of the state.
Ms. Stallings attended Texas A&M University as an undergraduate and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010. She then went on to pursue her legal studies at Baylor University Law School in Waco, and, in 2013, she was awarded her Juris Doctor degree. After law school, Ms. Stallings worked for several years in the Houston area before moving to Midland and becoming a part of Ward, Myers & Stallings. She has been admitted to practice before all Texas state courts since 2014.
Like many other attorneys who concentrate on family law, Ms. Stallings has many clients who are facing the ends of their marital relationships and who need assistance and guidance in dealing with the divorce-related issues of child custody and visitation, alimony, child support and the division of complex community assets and financial obligations. She has extensive trial experience, and she puts it to use when her clients have failed to come to an accord on some or all of those matters through mediation or negotiations.
Outside of her divorce practice, Ms. Stallings has helped divorced clients who have already received court orders relating to parenting or support and who now need them modified or, in some cases, enforced. She is admired by her colleagues for the manner in which she handles issues that are often emotional for her clients and holds a "Superb" rating on Avvo.
