Michael Fogarty

Michael Fogarty is the owner and founder of the Fogarty LLP law firm located in Plano, Texas. A patent attorney with almost 30 years of legal experience, he takes on all types of intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, due diligence, opinion work, licensing, and general IP counseling. 

Mr. Fogarty has gained invaluable experience working with technologies involving telecommunications, wireless networks, computer systems, software, image, video and speech processing, radar systems, oil field equipment, integrated circuit architecture, aircraft systems, and medical devices. 

Serving clients in the United States and throughout the world, Mr. Fogarty has immense experience in prosecution, litigation, and counseling. Prior to practicing law, he served in the U.S. Navy as a naval flight officer for 9 years and also worked as an engineer for Northrop Defense Systems. With a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, he graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Graduating cum laude, he earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University.
