Michael Fogarty

Michael Fogarty is the owner and founder of the law firm of Fogarty LLP located in Plano, Texas. With over 24 years of legal experience, he is a patent attorney, taking on cases such as patent litigation and arbitration, intellectual property matters, due diligence, opinion work, licensing and general IP counseling. 

Representing both defendants and plaintiffs with their patent litigation and arbitration cases, Mr. Fogarty has gained invaluable experience working with technologies involving telecommunications networks, wireless networks, computer systems and software, image, video and speech processing, radar systems, oil field equipment, integrated circuit architecture, and optical transmission networks. 

Serving clients in the United States and throughout the world, Mr. Fogarty has immense experience in prosecution, litigation and counseling. His prior experience includes serving in the U.S. Navy as a naval flight officer for 9 years. With a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, he graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Graduating cum laude, he earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University.
