Christina Jump continues her love for civil rights litigation and labor and employment law as she leads litigation cases in federal courts across the country in her solo practice.  She became Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2001 and maintains that today.  After running her own firm for several years and spending several more at large firms, Ms. Jump devoted ten years to lead and grow the Civil Litigation department for the nonprofit Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America (now the legal division of the Muslim Legal Fund of America), as its Civil Litigation Department Head.  Ms. Jump previously served as an Associate Hearing Officer for the City of Dallas for over ten years, in the municipal courthouse.  During 2012, Christy served as President of the Dallas Women Lawyers' Association, which allowed her to work with the organization for which she has been a board member for many years in a new and exciting way.  Under her leadership, the DWLA in 2012 began a mentorship program with SMU Women in the Law, its female law students group, and continues that program to this day.  Christy and the 2012 Board also created the first Study Stipend (now the "Get Started" grant) that awards scholarships to graduating law students to help bridge the expense gap while studying for the bar exam.  Ms. Jump also spearheaded, along with the Board, many joint events with the other "sister bar" organizations including Dallas Asian American Bar Association, Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and J.L. Turner Legal Association.  And, she served on the Associate Judge Merit Selection Committee for the selection of a new Dallas County Associate Judge, the Planning Committee for the State Bar 2013 Annual Meeting, the Nominating Committee for the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation, and as a co-chair for the Women's Advocacy Awards.  She also served as a Board member on the National Council of Women Bar Associations for multiple years.  Ms. Jump is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a Life Fellow with the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation, a longtime board member of the Dallas Women's Lawyers Association Foundation as well as its Secretary for the past several years, and a former Trustee and Vice Chair of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation.  Ms. Jump further serves as a mentor through the DAYL, DBA and DWLA, helping to promote and advise young lawyers in their career development as well as mentoring high school students to succeed.  She speaks frequently on employment law, social networking and its use in litigation, and ethical considerations in constitutional and employment law practices.  While leading the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America, Ms. Jump litigated in federal trial and appellate courts on issues of civil rights and constitutional challenges, including as counsel of record for multiple petitions and amicus briefs to the United States Supreme Court. In her current role, Ms. Jump leads many of the same matters she previously did while she continues to grow her practice with new clients and additional amicus briefs supporting other matters. She often presents at oral arguments, including before the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and D.C. Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)

  • Weinberg v. American Muslims for Palestine et al.: Motion to dismiss granted in federal court in California for failure to state a claim for relief against non-profit American Muslims for Palestine and its officers.  This case included allegations under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Alien Tort Statute, attempting to hold AMP and its officers responsible for actions of others taken overseas.  The judge made clear in ruling for my clients that "the complaint is entirely devoid of any specific factual allegations that AMP or anyone at AMP had any involvement" in the actions the plaintiff said led to his harm., 2026

  • Argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in two cases regarding watchlisting and due process claims, 2022
  • Argued before the D.C. Circuit Court in Jibril v. Mayorkas regarding lack of due process and transparency in the government's terrorist watchlist designations, 2024
  • Counsel of Record on amicus brief to the Supreme Court of the United States in Federal Bureau of Investigation v. Fikre, addressing the rights of individuals to bring suit challenging their placements in a government watchlist even if the government removes them during the course of litigation, based on the fact that the government retains the right to place individuals back on these lists at any time and without any protections for their due process right to meaningfully challenge the placement and be heard in response., 2023
  • Argued before the Fifth Circuit in Haseeb Abdullah v. Paxton, et al, challenging the constitutionality and propriety of a Texas statute that prohibits managers of state employees' retirement funds from investing in any company the State of Texas puts on its list of companies that support the Boycott, Divest, Sanction ("BDS") movement as a form of free speech., 2023
  • Counsel of Record on Amicus Curie brief to the United States Supreme Court on religious accommodations issue for inmates and detainees, 2022
  • Argued before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of employee who was prevented from working, on religious discrimination claims, 2022
  • Present oral argument before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, 2021
  • Ghedi v. Mayorkas, 16 F.4th 456 (5th Cir. 2021): Lead counsel and oral advocate on appeal.  The Fifth Circuit reversed the district court in part, finding that the United States citizen plaintiff of Somali national origin had standing to challenge his presumed placement on a government watchlist without the need for a specific itinerary or concrete travel plans for the future.  Because he had established an extensive history of past travel for personal and business purposes, his allegations that he did intend to travel in the future were not "mere someday" intentions as the government characterized them.  In distinguishing the default case for articulating standing, the Fifth Circuit held that "comparing Lujan to this case is an apples-to-oranges comparison" because Mr. Ghedi's injuries occurred in the "act of flying" and were not isolated to any one location.  Oral argument located here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsrlX6umd8g , 2021
  • Jibril v. Mayorkas, 20 F.4th 804 (D.C. Cir. 2021): Lead counsel and oral advocate in case challenging presumed placement of a family of seven United States citizens on the Terrorist Watchlist, and resultant searches by U.S. personnel including searching and separating a two year old child apart from his parents.  Grant of motion to dismiss reversed and remanded back to district court.  The D.C. Circuit held that the plaintiffs did have standing to challenge the actions of the TSA, FBI, and TSC.  In finding the family members did not have to endure further harm simply to prove they remain on a government watchlist, because the government refuses to confirm or deny that fact, the D.C. Circuit described the government's argument that the family should have to do that as "heartless" and making "no sense." , 2021
