As a partner at Moerer & King, LLP in Richmond, Texas, Elizabeth "Libby" King has built a distinguished legal career centered on probate, estate administration, guardianship, and litigation. Her practice reflects a career-long commitment to guiding clients through some of life's most difficult transitions with clarity, compassion and skill.
Ms. King's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Baylor University, followed by her Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School. She further honed her dispute-resolution skills through specialized mediation training at the University of Houston Law Center's A. A. White Dispute Resolution Center, and she holds certification as a mediator. She is admitted to practice law in Texas and before the United States Supreme Court, and she is a member of the State Bar of Texas' Real Estate Probate and Trust Law section.
An upstanding figure in her field and in her community, Ms. King’s professional excellence has been recognized through numerous honors, including the Bridge Preparatory Academy's The Heart of Bridge Prep Award (2026), her ongoing candidacy as a Jaworski Fellow at Baylor Law School since 2020, the Lone Star Legal Aid Pro Bono Advisor Award for the Richmond Branch Office (2019) and the Young Baylor Lawyer of the Year distinction (2014). Additionally, she is AV Preeminent* peer-review rated through Martindale-Hubbell.
Beyond her legal practice, Ms. King is deeply invested in her community. She currently serves on the T. W. Davis Family YMCA's Capital Campaign Steering Committee and holds multiple leadership roles at OakBend Medical Center, including Secretary and Member of its Board of Directors. Her civic engagement also extends to St. John's United Methodist Church, where she is actively engaged in missions work.
