- Estate Planning is a daunting task that NO ONE wants to talk about. Well, almost No One. Charles learned that lesson the hard way after his wife, Olivia, became pregnant with their first son. Within hours of learning the news, Charles let her know that it would now be time to update their Wills. That did not go over well with Olivia who exclaimed, "Can we be happy about being pregnant for at least 24 hours before you talk about dying?" Throughout this book, Charles tells stories from his personal and professional life that highlight the need for proper Estate Planning. The book is intended to spark ideas and help you cultivate the right questions as you search for the proper team to help you complete the task of implementing a Will or Trust as part of your Personal Estate Plan. - Charles Weisinger is a board-certified estate planning and probate lawyer. His law firm has been named one of the fastest-growing companies two years in a row. He hopes to continue managing and mentoring his team over the next five years. He likes to watch his four boys play sports. An all-around handyman, when he’s at home, he’s often got a hammer or drill with him. Weisinger describes himself as steady. This year’s theme is Lotería. If you were a Lotería card, which one would you be and why? El Árbol, the tree. The tree to me is a symbol of life and security and home. My wife has always picked our homes based on the trees on the lot. They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. It is very much the same with future planning. My goal is to help families plant the seeds today so that in the future that tree is strong and keeps them safe. What is a favorite hobby or pastime? I love to do projects around the house. You will often find me with a drill and hammer in my hand working on something around the house that either needs to be repaired — remember four boys and two dogs — or creating something new. I usually have one or two of my boys tagging along and hammering along with me or fighting over the flashlight. Projects often take longer, but the memories will last forever, 40 Under 40, San Antonio Business Journal, 2020
