Corey F. Wehmeyer is a founding shareholder at Santoyo Wehmeyer P.C., in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Wehmeyer represents clients represents energy industry participants in trials, arbitrations and disputes. Clients include operators, working interest owners, mineral owners, drilling contractors, oil field service companies, pipeline companies, refiners, and mining companies. He has handled matters in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and North Dakota. He also represents clients in general real property and commercial litigation matters. As lead attorney, Corey has tried oil and gas jury trials to multi-million dollar verdict and judgment for clients and has also secured take nothing defense verdicts. Corey is also an appellate attorney and has successfully represented energy clients in oral argument and briefing before the Supreme Court of Texas, and many intermediate courts of appeal. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and is the Managing Shareholder of Santoyo Wehmeyer P.C.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University, Mr. Wehmeyer obtained a law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. He displayed his dedication to his education by graduating summa cum laude from both schools. is admitted to practice in Texas and Oklahoma as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Wehmeyer has represented a variety of clients including drilling contractors, mineral owners, mining companies and pipeline companies. In addition to his law practice, he regularly speaks on topics related to his area of law. He has been recognized for his accomplishments in the legal profession through inclusion in prominent groups, including the Order of the Coif and the Texas Bar Foundation.
Mr. Wehmeyer has received additional honors including being named in the San Antonio Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Energy” list in 2014 and 2015. In 2013, he received the Texas Tech Alumni Association’s “Rising Star” award.
Mr. Wehmeyer is a member of organizations including the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Association of Professional Landmen and the American Association of Professional Landmen. He also serves on Texas Tech University School of Law’s energy law advisory committee and has participated on the editorial board of the American Bar Association’s environmental and energy litigation journal.
