A distinguished tax attorney, Mr. Whittenburg holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law, one of the nation’s top tax law programs. His tax law practice includes handling IRS audits, enforced collections, tax planning strategies, tax-exempt entities, and trust fund recovery penalties. He has successfully represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

Mr. Whittenburg understands that estate planning and probate matters can be overwhelming, especially during times of grief and transition. He provides one-on-one guidance, helping clients navigate the complexities of will planning, trust creation, and probate administration with clarity and care. Before founding his own firm, he practiced at top private law firms in Dallas and San Antonio, gaining extensive experience in tax and business law. A Texas native, he holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and a master’s degree in accounting from Texas Tech University. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law before pursuing his advanced tax law degree at NYU.

Licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, Mr. Whittenburg is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas and the U.S. Tax Court.

An active member of the legal community, he belongs to the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Bar Foundation, the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Tax Section, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. Outside of his legal work, he enjoys collecting sports memorabilia and tobacco cards and is actively involved in community organizations.
