Joseph McKnight Davis

A well-established attorney and partner with the Texas firm Branscomb Law, which has branches in Corpus Christi, Austin, San Antonio  Joseph McKnight Davis has four decades of experience in the practice of law. Licensed to practice in Texas since 1984, he is a board-certified specialist in civil trial law as authorized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1989. Extending his practice throughout Texas, he focuses his practice on real estate and probate litigation. 

Graduating magna cum laude in 1981 from the Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Mr. Davis completed  his education at the Texas Tech University School of Law. Securing his doctorate in jurisprudence in 1984, he also obtained admissions to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. 

Prior to joining Branscomb Law, Mr. Davis served as an assistant district attorney for the 216th District Court. In addition, he has also been a court-appointed mediator since 1992 by the presiding judges of the 38th, 198th, 216th, 298th and 365th District Courts.

Owing to his legal proficiency, Mr. Davis has been honored with a peer-review rating of AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell. He has also earned a position on the list of Best Lawyers in America.

Furthermore, Mr. Davis engages in various activities aimed at the welfare of the community. For this purpose, he works with several organizations such as the Clan Macnachtan Association Worldwide, the Boerne Independent School District, the Texas Association of School Boards and more. An avid history enthusiast and community builder, he has authored several publications on land partition and easement litigation.
