Sonia M. Rodriguez

Sonia M. Rodriguez is a partner and attorney at Cowen | Rodriguez | Peacock in San Antonio, Texas. Focusing on brain injuries, motor vehicle collisions, including car, truck, rideshare, pedestrian and drunk-driving accidents, Ms. Rodriguez has consistently delivered exceptional results for her clients. In 2004, she made history as the first Mexican American woman to secure a jury verdict exceeding $2 million in Val Verde County, Texas. After graduating from Burbank High School, Ms. Rodriguez earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas before obtaining her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1999. While at St. Mary’s, she co-founded The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Minority Issues, reflecting her enduring dedication to elevating underrepresented voices in the legal discourse.

Beyond her courtroom successes, Ms. Rodriguez has held prominent leadership roles within the legal community. She served as president of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association and remains a Sustaining Member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Committed to nurturing future leaders, she advises the Young Women’s Leadership Academy and sits on the board of the SAISD Foundation. 

From 2005 to 2015, Ms. Rodriguez chaired the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women in San Antonio, demonstrating her commitment to justice, community engagement and the empowerment of others.
