Geoffrey S. Binney, a managing partner at Gauntt Koen Binney & Kidd, LLP, in Spring, Texas, deftly navigates the intricate world of litigation, advocating for both plaintiffs and defendants across a diverse spectrum of commercial and personal injury cases. Much of Mr. Binney’s practice revolves around defending home inspectors against allegations of errors and omissions. Before embarking on his legal journey, Mr. Binney graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science degree and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. During his tenure, he spearheaded Operation Candyman, a landmark investigation into online child pornography that led to over 100 convictions and the identification of numerous victims. As a Supervisory Special Agent, Mr. Binney founded and staffed the Houston Area Cyber-Crime Task Force, overseeing computer forensic examinations for significant investigations, including Enron and Arthur Andersen. He managed cybercrime inquiries involving computer intrusions, online child exploitation, fraud, cyber-terrorism and intellectual property theft.

Mr. Binney completed his law degree at South Texas College of Law Houston in 2000 and has been practicing law in Texas ever since. His legal credentials allow him to appear in the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of Texas, and his reach extends to both state and federal courts in various states such as Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, New York, Ohio and Oklahoma. A dedicated community member, he belongs to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and, along with his wife Amy, raised three sons in The Woodlands.
