Ms. Musick’s journey in law began with a B.B.A. in accounting from Sam Houston State University in 1991, followed by her J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston in 1998. Her professional path includes valuable business, accounting and computer operations knowledge gained while working for a nationwide grocery chain, a notable Houston personal injury lawyer and a large investment banking firm in Houston. Her strong business sense and educational journey equip her to handle intricate cases involving white collar crime, theft and embezzlement. 

While in law school, Ms. Musick refined her abilities through an internship at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. She earned a spot in Phi Delta Phi’s Wood Inn, a legal fraternity that applauds academic achievement and ethical conduct. Her leadership qualities shone through when she took on the role of Magister (president) of Wood Inn and engaged in moot court and mock trial competitions.

Twice serving as a Harris County prosecutor, Ms. Musick played key roles in county, juvenile and district courts, serving as a trial lawyer, chief prosecutor and head of various divisions, including public integrity and sex crimes. She also contributed to the training of fellow prosecutors. Returning to the prosecutor’s office in 2017, she embraced leadership roles to enhance training and technology while supervising other prosecutors. 

Ms. Musick actively participates in various professional organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, where she has held numerous leadership positions. She is also involved with the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Montgomery County Criminal Lawyers Association, the Fort Bend County Criminal Defense Attorneys Association and the College of the State Bar of Texas. 

A member of the Houston Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, Ms. Musick contributes to continuing education for local lawyers. Beyond her legal practice, she has shared her insights as a contributor to Fault Lines and as the host of a weekly talk radio show, Legally Speaking, on KJOZ 880 AM in Houston.
