Ronnie Yeates is a Native Texas criminal defense attorney with over two decades of legal experience. Located in The Woodlands, Texas, he vigorously defends the rights of his clients who are accused of criminal charges ranging from minor to major, including driving under the influence (DUI) to Murder. In addition to the criminal cases, he fights for those who lost their driving or firearms rights due to those criminal charges.
Ronnie is a Class III firearms dealer and manufacturer and provides advice to clients on all firearms-related issues. He fights for those who have lost their firearms rights and works to get them restored. Moreover, Ronnie has published several articles on topics related to Texas Firearms laws and the National Firearms Act. Over the years, he has played a key role in planning and supervising numerous machine gun shoots across Texas. After graduating from Sam Houston State University with a degree in criminal justice in 1997, Ronnie began his legal career as an intern investigating cold cases and murders for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. He worked as an intern with the Harris County District Attorney's Office at the 184th District Court in Houston when he was a student at South Texas College of Law. He was involved in the investigation and prosecution of significant felony cases. He received his Juris Doctor and was admitted by the State Bar of Texas in 2001. He retired after 17 years as a prosecutor and, a s current defense lawyer, knows both sides of the fight well.
Ronnie is a member of the Texas District & County Attorneys Association, the Texas State Rifle Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. He sat on the board of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association and is the President-Elect of the Montgomery County Bar Association.
He tried the first criminal charge in Harris County to verdict after COVID and received a Directed Verdict of Not Guilty in a DWI Second Blood draw case.
