Fred R. Norton, Jr.

Fred R. Norton Jr. is a tax law attorney at the law firm of Norton & Wood, in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Norton represents individuals and business owners in Texarkana and the state of Arkansas, advising them on various tax-related legal issues.

Practicing law for over 35 years, Mr. Norton has substantial tax law knowledge and experience, which he uses to the benefit of his clients. He has been board-certified in tax law, estate planning and probate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Outside of his law practice, Mr. Norton is active in his legal community. He is a member of the Texarkana Bar Association, the Northeast Texas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He is a graduate of Leadership Texarkana and a former chair of the organization’s Leadership Initiative for Texarkana program. He continues to serve on the board of directors for the organization.

Mr. Norton earned a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He went on to receive his law degree from Baylor Law School. Additionally, he holds a Master of Laws degree in taxation from New York University School of Law, where he was chosen for the honors society Omicron Delta Kappa.

Qualified to appear before all Texas state courts, Mr. Norton also holds licenses to practice law before various federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Tax Court.
