Craig D. Cherry

Craig D. Cherry is an accomplished trial lawyer and trusted client advisor. As a partner at Cherry Johnson Siegmund James LLC in Waco, Texas, he concentrates on complex civil litigation across various areas, including business disputes, intellectual property, personal injury and wrongful death. His impressive track record includes successfully representing clients across the United States and Europe, securing significant settlements and verdicts.

Following his undergraduate studies in finance at Baylor University, Mr. Cherry received his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 1999. He passed the bar exam and was admitted to legal practice in Texas in the same year. Furthermore, he holds admission to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and all the federal district courts in Texas.

Mr. Cherry is board-certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in civil trial advocacy and by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in civil and personal injury trial law. He also acts as a member of the Personal Injury Trial Law Exam Commission and the Civil Trial Law Advisory Commission.

Furthermore, Mr. Cherry was honored with an invitation to join the Litigation Counsel of America as a fellow. His outstanding contributions to his profession were also recognized in 2023 when he was presented with the Tom Garner Award by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Cherry's legal prowess has garnered him numerous accolades over the years. He is a repeat honoree in The Best Lawyers in America by U.S. News & World Report from 2021 to 2024. Additionally, The National Trial Lawyers has named him multiple times as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers (2015 - 2023) and previously as one of the Top 40 Under 40 trial lawyers (2012 - 2014).

Apart from his achievements in the courtroom, Mr. Cherry has served on several prestigious boards, including the State Bar of Texas, The Texas Lyceum and the Alliance for Judicial Funding, Inc. He currently holds the position of life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and also served as the president of the Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court from 2014 to 2016. Beyond his legal volunteerism, he actively supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Operation Integration Toy Drive.
