Mark Firmin is a well-regarded civil litigation attorney at the law firm of Beard Kultgen Brophy Bostwick & Dickson, PLLC, in Waco, Texas. Mr. Firmin is a native of Waco who graduated from Baylor University three times. He received his Bachelor of Arts (2006) and Master of Arts (2009) in History, followed by his Juris Doctor in May 2016. I between his M.A. and J.D., he earned a Master of Science in Information Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. Before going back to law school, he worked as a manuscript archivist for two years at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at UT Austin.
During law school, Mr. Firmin participated in five different moot court and mock trial competitions, including the National Civil Trial Competition, and was drawn to Baylor Law's rigorous Practice Court program. He received Best Advocate honors at the Houston Regional of the American Association for Justice’s Student Trial Advocacy Competition in 2016.
Mr. Firmin, having previously worked at a boutique litigation firm in Houston, Texas, made the choice to return to his hometown of Waco to serve his community in 2019. He has since built a solid reputation for himself and handles all stages of litigation. He has first-chaired and second-chaired cases that have resulted in favorable judgments for his clients. He has also taken and defended depositions and successfully written and argued dispositive motions.
First licensed in Texas in 2016, Mr. Firmin has also appeared before the United States District Court for the Western, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a board member and the current vice president of Caritas of Waco, a social services organization.
