Details

With a keen interest in federal crimes, Michael J. Langford, a partner at Langford Ramos, dedicates his legal practice to all areas of criminal law. He offers his clients a personalized and substantive approach to representation, providing knowledge, responsiveness and the focused attention required for a successful defense. His practice is based in Salt Lake City, but he represents clients throughout the state.

Furthermore, from drug trafficking to money laundering, Mr. Langford's wealth of experience grants him an intimate comprehension of the frustrations that individuals and families bear as they navigate the rugged terrain of the criminal justice system. This motivates his commitment to representing the accused as individuals, not just clients.

Having earned his bachelor's degree from Boston College in 1996, Mr. Langford obtained his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2002. Admitted to practice in Utah in 2003, he clerked at the U.S. attorney's office, the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association and the Pottawattamie County attorney's office while in law school.

Mr. Langford has represented hundreds of indigent individuals charged with serious federal offenses as an assistant federal public defender. A member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel selected by the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah and conflict trial counsel for the Salt Lake Defender Association, he has demonstrated his legal prowess before the Utah Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.

An upstanding figure in the legal community, Mr. Langford is affiliated with the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Utah State Bar. Furthermore, he presently serves on the governing bodies of the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center and the Salt Lake County Bar Association. Previously, he had held board positions in organizations like the Salt Lake County Children's Justice Center, the Multicultural Legal Center and the Henry's Fork Foundation.

Mr. Langford boasts an esteemed "Superb" rating on Avvo and glowing peer endorsements. He stands out as a versatile attorney with linguistic proficiency in both French and Spanish. Also, he has been listed among Utah Business magazine's Legal Elite and Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers.
