Laura Blair Butler is a partner at Tucker Griffin Barnes P.C. in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ms. Butler practices family law and represents clients in matters involving alimony, divorce, child custody, child support, child visitation, court order modification, domestic violence, fathers’ rights, marital property, property settlement agreements, same-sex family law and spousal support. She handles all types of divorce, including no-fault and contested divorce, and is experienced in collaborative divorce, as well.

Ms. Butler and her practice group serve individuals and families in Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Staunton Harrisonburg, and throughout Albemarle, Augusta, Rockingham Buckingham, Culpeper, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Orange and Nelson counties. She has more than 20 years of experience, practicing solely in the area of family law since 1997. Considered an aggressive and knowledgeable advocate, she helps her clients accomplish their legal goals and move forward.

She is active in her legal community and a member of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association, Virginia State Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, the Thomas Jefferson American Inn of Court and the board of governors of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. She is a former member of the Virginia Continuing Legal Education advisory committee.

Ms. Butler earned a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and received her law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. She obtained a license to practice law in North Carolina in 1995, received her Virginia law license in 2004 and is qualified to appear before all Virginia state courts.
