Benjamin J. Trichilo is of counsel at McCandlish Lillard in Fairfax, Virginia and has represented individuals and businesses during his many years of litigation practice. His extensive experience encompasses both trial and appellate litigation, and representation of many injured individuals. His representation of insurers for many years helped him learn the tactics and strategies often used to defeat personal injury claims. He has handled a broad range of cases including brain injuries, motor vehicle and trucking accidents, slip and fall injuries, premises liability injuries, assaults, and on the job injuries and diseases.
Injured people need an advocate who knows the law and how to get results. This requires knowledge of defense tactics and developing effective strategies for recovery. His litigation practice is dedicated to serving his clients by achieving their goals efficiently and cost-effectively. He operates under a fundamental principle – handle every case as if it were his own.
A graduate of the Georgetown University Business School, he received his B.S. degree cum laude in 1971. Later, Mr. Trichilo earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1974 and was licensed to practice in Virginia the same year. He was also admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
A fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, Mr. Trichilo is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Fairfax Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, The Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
