Debra Powers is a partner at Taylor Huguley Powers PLLC, a newly formed firm dedicated to the practice of family law, located in Fairfax, Virginia.  Previously, she was a partner at The Susan Hicks Group, PC.  Ms. Powers is devoted to representing clients throughout Northern Virginia, including the counties of Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, and Arlington, and the City of Alexandria.  She compassionately helps clients navigate difficult domestic relations and family law issues, such as separation and divorce, property division and equitable distribution, spousal support, child support, and custody and parenting time or visitation issues. 

Since 1999, Ms. Powers has been practicing family law in Fairfax and the surrounding jurisdictions and she knows all too well the emotions involved when a family is embroiled in a legal dispute. She provides clients with advice and guidance every step of the way so that they feel knowledgeable, confident, and empowered to make well-informed decisions about their future.  Ms. Powers is equally comfortable drafting and negotiating settlement agreements and advocating for her clients in the courtroom.

Ms. Powers received a Bachelor of Arts and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond.  She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.  For several years before practicing family law, she worked at Michie, the legal publishing company in Charlottesville, Virginia, now a part of LexisNexis.

Ms. Powers is an active member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Women Attorneys Association, the Fairfax Bar Association, the Prince William County Bar Association, and the Loudoun County Bar Association.  She frequently speaks at continuing legal education seminars and has received a number of accolades from the legal community throughout her career.
