As a partner at Fairfax, Virginia-based Culin Sharp Autry & Day PLC, James E. Autry handles complex civil litigation involving business disputes, real estate matters, and trusts and estates issues. He provides representation to clients throughout northern Virginia. Mr. Autry also has a transactional practice that includes the preparation of corporate governance documents and shareholder agreements, business restructuring, loan refinancings, franchise leasing and commercial lease agreements, commercial real estate acquisitions and sales, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Autry attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia and received a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1980. As an undergraduate, he was honored with induction into the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the classics society, Eta Sigma Phi. After earning a Master of Arts in History at the University of Virginia, Mr. Autry enrolled at the Dickinson School of Law, which is now part of Pennsylvania State University, and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1984. Admitted to practice before all Virginia state courts, Mr. Autry is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.
His successful and ethical representation of his many clients has earned Mr. Autry acclaim from his fellow attorneys, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
