Maureen E. Danker

Maureen E. Danker is a co-founder of Kelly Byrnes & Danker, PLLC, located in Fairfax, Virginia. Representing people throughout the state, she focuses her practice exclusively on divorce and other family law matters. For her clients who are facing the end of their marriages, Ms. Danker provides advice and counsel with respect to such divorce-related issues as the division of complex assets and debts, child custody and visitation, business valuations, and alimony and child support. In some cases, litigation is the only way to handle these issues, and she is a forceful courtroom advocate. However, Ms. Danker also has extensive experience in settlement negotiations and mediation, and when appropriate, she will attempt to reach an accord through these alternative dispute resolution methods.

Other family law matters in which Ms. Danker has extensive experience include the preparation and review of prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements. She also helps clients who are seeking the enforcement of or a modification to existing support and custody orders, and she has provided assistance to people who have been the victims of domestic violence and who are seeking protective orders.

Ms. Danker is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1997. She then went on to attend Widener University Delaware Law School and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2000. Ms. Danker has been admitted to practice law in Virginia since 2001. She has been a member of both the bar council and executive committee of the Virginia State Bar, and she is a past president of the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar as well. Ms. Danker is also a longstanding member of the Family Law Section of the Fairfax Bar Association.
