Julie Curran Gerock

The partner and co-founder of Maddox & Gerock, Julie C. Gerock has been practicing family law since 1999. From the firm's office in Falls Church, Virginia, she represents clients in the northern part of the state as well as in the District of Columbia. The types of cases that Ms. Gerock handles through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution include contested and uncontested divorces, child custody disputes, property division, spousal and child support, and domestic and international relocations. Ms. Gerock also has experience with same-sex family law matters.

Ms. Gerock is a graduate of the University of Miami, from where she received a Bachelor of Arts in marine affairs in 1994. She then attended Boston College Law School and earned her Juris Doctor in 1998. Ms. Gerock started her legal career at a small firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was made a partner within three years. She then relocated to Washington, D.C., and was an attorney with a well-known family law firm there before co-founding her current firm in 2009. Ms. Gerock retains her license to practice in North Carolina, and she is also admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia.

During her career, Ms. Gerock has received many accolades from her fellow attorneys, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell including the Judicial Edition. She also has a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. For the last three years, she has been named by the Washingtonian magazine to its annual list of the Best Lawyers in Divorce and Family Law. She has also been recognized in the 2019 Edition of Best Lawyers in America. A fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, Ms. Gerock is also a member of the Fairfax Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
