After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from American University in 1975, Mr. Broccoletti earned his Juris Doctor from William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1978. He began his legal career at the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney's Office before partnering with J. Gerard Zoby in 1985. Today, Mr. Broccoletti is admitted to practice law in Virginia and before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Broccoletti's strong track record has earned him the respect of his peers. Along with being included in The Best Lawyers in America*, he was featured in Virginia Business magazine's list of Legal Elite. He is an active member of various bars and associations, including the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association and the Virginia Beach Bar Association. He has also served as president of the Tidewater Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and chair for the Virginia State Bar's Criminal Law Section and standing committee on legal ethics. He also belongs to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and serves on the board of directors for the Virginia Capital Representation Resource Center. Mr. Broccoletti was recently appointed to the United States Sentencing Commission Practitioners Advisory Group to represent the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Broccoletti is a fellow in the American College of trial lawyers and a substitute judge appointed by the Virginia Beach Circuit Court.
