Matthew S. Kensky is a founding attorney & partner at Borjian & Kensky Law Group, PLLC., in Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Kensky focuses his practice on criminal law and serves both adults and juveniles throughout northern Virginia. He handles all types of felonies and misdemeanors, as well as petitions for expungement or restoration of driving privileges, protective orders and traffic violations.

Mr. Kensky has over 20 years of legal experience.  He understands the damaging effect of a criminal accusation or conviction and zealously advocates on behalf of his clients, fighting for reduced or eliminated charges.  Over his two decade career, he has argued cases before the VA Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, navigated quasi-criminal violations through VA adminstrative agencies, and handled complex criminal matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Kensky speaks on topics such as DUI defense or case law updates at conferences and continuing legal education seminars. He is the former recipient of a summer fellowship from the George Mason University School of Law, where he studied public interest law, and a Howard Fellowship. He is also a former member of Pi Sigma Alpha, a political science honor society.

Active in his legal community, Mr. Kensky belongs to the Fairfax Bar Association and the criminal law section of the Virginia State Bar. He is a former member of the American Inns of Court.

Mr. Kensky graduated cum laude from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He earned his law degree from George Mason University School of Law. Following law school, he passed the Virginia bar examination and obtained his license to practice law in 1999. He is qualified to appear before all Virginia state courts.

App. LEXIS 57 (2005) (in Commonwealth's interlocutory appeal to the Court of Appeals for Virginia, defended trial court's ruling in Defendant's favor that officer violated the accused's Miranda rights where police questioning in the detective's vehicle was custodial, in felony larceny case).
