Sharon Pederson

Functioning as a partner at the law firm Hirsch & Ehlenberger, P.C., Sharon F. Pederson is an established family law attorney based in northern Virginia. She aids and counsels her clients in resolving problems related to divorce, separation agreements, child custody and support, alimony, and property distribution.  Ms. Pederson engages in litigation, negotiation, mediation and collaborative divorce.

Ms. Pederson holds a dual bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from the University of Florida, Gainesville. As an undergraduate student, she was inducted into the Delta Zeta sorority and was an active participant in the activities of the Equal Justice Foundation, the Panhellenic Council, the UF Student Government, the mock trial board and Florida Blue Key. In 2014, she completed her law degree from The George Washington University Law School.

Soon after law school, Ms. Pederson was licensed by the Virginia State Bar. Throughout her time at law school, she was engaged in several internships at various government and other legal organizations. She has interned at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia – Child Protection Section of the Family Services Division and the Juvenile Section of the Public Safety Division, and for DC SAFE. Furthermore, she was a certified law student at the university’s Family Justice Litigation Clinic.

Ms. Pederson is a valued member of the Virginia legal community who has a deep understanding of the problems existing in the community. Her compassionate intervention in a multitude of cases has led to favorable outcomes for her clients outside of the court, saving them the grave inconveniences associated with long-drawn trials. She has memberships in various legal associations, including the Family Law Section of the Fairfax Bar Association, the Loudoun County Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar.

In addition to her profession, she is determined to extend her services to her community through any means possible. She was a corps member of the Teach For America program and took the opportunity to teach high school math to indigent students of rural Eastern North Carolina in Vance County Schools.
