Carol A. N. Breit

Carol A. N. Breit represents clients throughout Virginia in the areas of divorce, family law, criminal defense, personal injury and employment law. She gives each client's case her personal attention in efforts to seek a favorable outcome, including devoting 80 percent of her practice to litigation. Although she is willing to take cases to trial when necessary to fight for the rights of those she represents, in some situations, alternatives to litigation may serve the best interests of all parties.

After completing her Juris Doctor at University of Virginia School of Law, Ms. Breit was admitted to the Virginia Bar. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ms. Breit devotes much of her practice to family law, including cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, spousal support and equitable distribution of property. In criminal defense law, she represents clients for both misdemeanor and felony cases, including traffic offenses, DUIs, drug charges and property crimes. Ms. Breit began her legal career as a prosecutor, which gave her experience in litigation and an understanding of how government officials may investigate and prosecute criminal cases.

Ms. Breit also provides legal representation for most types of personal injury claims and wrongful death cases, including motor vehicle accidents and slip-and-fall cases. She seeks just compensation for clients for all associated costs, including physical and mental trauma, medical bills, time off work, and pain and suffering. Ms. Breit also handles employment law cases involving discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual harassment.
