Cosby Jr., a partner at The Law Office of Cosby & Calhoun in Richmond, Virginia, is a well-established attorney who serves clients across the Richmond metro area and all the counties therein. His proficiency lies in criminal law, DUI/DWI cases, traffic violations and white collar crimes.

Mr. Cosby obtained his J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law in 1977 and became a law clerk for the Virginia Supreme Court. After his tenure as a law clerk, he served as an assistant commonwealth's attorney for the city of Richmond, where he prosecuted criminal cases for four years. Prior to his legal studies, he obtained his B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Richmond in 1972 and 1974, respectively.

Licensed in Virginia in 1977, Mr. Cosby was granted admission to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the Virginia Supreme Court. Having completed the rigorous career prosecutor's program at the University of Houston in Texas, he earned the commendation of Richmond's chief of police for his exemplary handling of a difficult prosecution. His mastery of criminal defense has earned him numerous engagements as a guest speaker at several institutions, such as the Virginia State Police Training Academy, the City of Richmond Police Department Training Facility and the Top Gun program at the College of William & Mary, where drug prosecutors and investigators receive dedicated instruction.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Cosby is an active member of The Bar Association of the City of Richmond, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Virginia State Bar and The Virginia Bar Association.
