G. Russell Boleman, III

As the chairman emeritus of Boleman Law Firm, P.C., based in Richmond, Virginia, G. Russell Boleman III is an experienced attorney whose practice focuses on bankruptcy law. Throughout his legal career, he has represented clients navigating complex financial challenges, providing guidance through bankruptcy proceedings and related legal matters. His experience in the field reflects a longstanding commitment to helping individuals and families address financial difficulties and pursue practical paths forward.

Mr. Boleman has developed a strong presence within Virginia’s legal and bankruptcy communities. He previously served as chairman of the Richmond Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section, where he contributed to the professional development of attorneys practicing in the field. His involvement extends beyond the legal profession, reflecting an interest in expanding access to legal resources and supporting organizations that serve Virginians facing financial hardship.

Mr. Boleman serves on the dean’s advisory board of the University of Richmond School of Law. He is also a board member of the Virginia Poverty Law Center and has affiliations with the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, the Virginia Housing, the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and the National Consumer Law Center.

Academically, Mr. Boleman earned his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University before pursuing his legal education at the University of Richmond School of Law, where he honed his legal acumen and obtained his Juris Doctor. In recognition of his many contributions, he has received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Boleman is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the Supreme Court of Virginia.
