A legendary attorney with over 55 years of legal experience, Irving M. Blank serves clients in Richmond, Virginia, as a partner at the law firm of Blank & Marcus LLC. His practice areas include personal injury, professional malpractice, premises liability and wrongful death.

A 1966 honors graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (now Virginia Tech), Mr. Blank earned his J.D. from the University of Richmond – the T.C. Williams School of Law in 1967. He was licensed to practice in Virginia the same year and is additionally qualified to appear in the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

A longtime member of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Mr. Blank has secured millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. A few of his representative results include a $5 million settlement for the death of two infant passengers, a $4.5 million compensation in a wrongful death case, a $4 million verdict in a medical malpractice case and a $1 million settlement in a product liability case.

Mr. Blank was honored with a plethora of leadership positions in several organizations. He was among the board of directors of the Richmond Bar Association, the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, the Virginia Holocaust Museum and the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond. He was among the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Arbitrators, and a council member and ex-president of the Virginia State Bar.

A former captain of the JAG Corps, U.S. Army Reserve, Mr. Blank is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the John Marshall American Inn of Court, the American Association for Justice, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Virginia Law Foundation.

The author of a few scholarly articles, Mr. Blank has provided pro bono services through the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and the Legal Aid Justice Center. He received the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond Distinguished Award and was the recipient of the Civility and Professionalism Award by the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys. He was listed among the Top 100 Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association and named “Virginia's Leader in the Law” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
