Jaime McGuire is an attorney at Amaryllis Law, Salem, Virginia, where she oversees the firm's immigration and adoption practices. Her career, which began at the same firm (formerly known as Poarch Law), has been marked by a profound dedication to serving individuals in complex legal situations, including juveniles, victims of crime and families navigating the adoption process. She extends her practice to the people across Virginia.
Ms. McGuire holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Liberty University School of Law, with a concentration in child and family law, along with a Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing from Liberty University. Her academic background has equipped her with a robust understanding of both the legal and administrative aspects of law practice, enabling her to manage multiple practice areas at the law firm effectively.
Throughout her career, Ms. McGuire has achieved significant success in court, particularly in removal practice, where she has been a pivotal part of the team. Her accomplishments in victim advocacy and her increasing responsibilities within the firm have been recognized widely. In 2020, she was honored with the Immigration Law Section’s Younger Lawyer of the Year Award from the Federal Bar Association and has been consistently selected as one of the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” since 2021. She is also rated “Very Good” on Avvo.
In addition to her role at Amaryllis Law, Ms. McGuire is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Federal Bar Association's Immigration Law Section, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Salem/Roanoke County Bar Association and the Virginia Women Attorneys Association. Her experiences volunteering with children in a Ugandan orphanage and working on a human trafficking project in Thailand have profoundly influenced her approach to legal practice.
Born in California and having spent her formative years in Roanoke, Virginia – before her family moved to Nevada – Ms. McGuire returned to Virginia for her higher education and has since established herself as a compassionate and driven attorney. Her extensive involvement in both local and international legal issues showcases her commitment to making a significant impact through her legal experience and humanitarian efforts.
