Cary S. Greenberg

Cary S. Greenberg is a co-founder of GreenbergCostle, PC, in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia. Mr. Greenberg primarily concentrates his practice on white collar criminal defense. He also handles family law and personal injury matters. He represents clients throughout Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. 

Mr. Greenberg has over 30 years of legal experience. During his career as a criminal defense attorney, he has successfully secured not-guilty verdicts for individuals charged with crimes including assault, bank fraud, drug distribution, embezzlement, extortion, malicious wounding, money laundering, murder, obtaining money by false pretenses, unlawful disposal of toxic materials, wire fraud and various other state and federal crimes.

Contributing to his legal community, Mr. Greenberg serves on a legal advisory panel for the American Civil Liberties Union and is vice-chair of an ethics disciplinary panel of the Virginia State Bar. He belongs to the Alexandria Bar Association, the Fairfax Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the George Mason American Inn of Court.

Mr. Greenberg earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to graduate from American University Washington College of Law.

Earlier in his legal career, Mr. Greenberg was a partner at two private law firms and worked as a prosecutor for the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office in Alexandria. He is qualified to appear before all Virginia state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
