Licensed to practice law since 2004, Cynthia L. Chaing is an attorney at Chaing Anders, where she represents clients in cases of family law, estate and probate. Ms. Chaing provides legal advice and representation in all aspects of family law, including premarital agreements, divorce, child support, alimony, child custody, adoptions, order modifications and grandparent rights. In addition, she handles matters of guardianships, conservatorships, and probate and estate administration. Her mission is to provide honest and compassionate legal services to residents of Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Southampton County, Newport News and Hampton in Virginia. From 2009 to 2017, she was the owner of her own law office.
Ms. Chaing has also been appointed as guardian ad litem for vulnerable adults and children. Her friendly, yet systematic and analytical approach enables her to help her clients to achieve favorable results in collaborative agreements and complex contested litigation.
Ms. Chaing is a member of the Virginia State Bar and an active participant in the Virginia Beach Bar Association. She is also a member of the international legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi.
As an undergraduate, Ms. Chaing attended the University of Rio Grande in Ohio, from which she graduated summa cum laude with additional full honors in 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She went on to be awarded her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach in 2003. After law school, she studied under former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist at four international courts and at the University of Oxford in Great Britain.
