Patrick L. Maurer

Partner at Garriott Maurer, PLLC, Patrick L. Maurer practices family law, sports and entertainment law, and criminal law across Virginia Beach, Virginia. He focuses on property settlements, divorces, premarital agreements, custody suits and domestic assaults, and representing corporate clients in a variety of civil litigation. He has strenuous experience handling crucial and challenging cases at trial.

Licensed in Virginia since 2005, Mr. Maurer provides services to clients in the music industry and other artistic endeavors in various entertainment law matters. As an active and working musician since the 1990s, he understands the specific needs of artists as well as other music industry members.

Following a Bachelor of Science degree in public administration from the George Mason University, Mr. Maurer earned his Juris Doctor from the Quinnipiac University School of Law with a certificate in criminal law. As a student at George Mason, he participated in a foreign exchange program with the University of Oxford. Further, he also completed his undergraduate studies at New College, University of Oxford, with a double primary in history and law.   

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Maurer served as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Danville, Virginia, and was eventually promoted to Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
