Attorney Profile

LEGAL ETHICS, LEGAL MALPRACTICE AND THE LAW GOVERNING LAWYERS.  As chair of Jackson & Campbell's Professional Responsibility Practice Group, it has been my privilege to represent many prominant and distinguished law firms and lawyers in matters relating to legal ethics, legal malpractice and the law governing lawyers for twenty years.  This has included bar investigations, suits in federal and state courts alleging malpractice or breach of fiduciary duties, litigation related to conflicts of interest, motions to disqualify, motions for sanctions, law firm break-ups and departures, ethics advice and expert testimony.  I also serve as in-house ethics counsel at my firm.

In 2017, I completed a 3-year term as a member of the 10-person ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility that issues ABA Ethics Opinions.  I have lectured to numerous lawyer groups around the country, regularly presented D.C. Bar CLE courses on legal ethics and am on the adjunct faculty of George Mason University Law School, teaching Professional Responsibility.

I have served as an expert witness and am available to serve as an arbitrator in connection with intra-law firm disputes.
