    David obtained his Juris Doctor from George Washington Law School, where he was a member of the George Washington Law Review and the Moot Court Board, and participated in the D.C. Law Students in Court Program.  Upon graduation in 1995, he worked as a Staff Attorney for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS), recognized as the top public defender’s office in the nation, until 2001.  David went on to Temple University, where he received an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy in 2006. 

    The National Board of Trial Advocacy has certified David as a Board Certified Criminal Trial Advocate, which indicates that he meets its exceptionally high standards for professionalism and experience. He is currently the only attorney in the Washington, D.C., area to carry this distinction.  David is a faculty member at Harvard Law School’s renowned Trial Advocacy Workshop, and he has been interviewed on national television regarding high-profile cases.

    Pro bono/Community Service:

    • D.C. Superior Court – David has represented a client pro bono in post-conviction proceedings regarding a double murder case since 2007.
    • Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project – David has represented a client convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison pro bono in post-conviction proceedings since 2012.  David's client was released from custody in 2017.
    • David was a Staff Attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (“PDS”), recognized as the top criminal public defender office in the country, from 1995-2001, where he represented clients in the litigation of serious juvenile and adult criminal matters including first degree murder, first degree sexual abuse, and armed robbery.
