As the managing attorney of The Cochran Firm in Washington, D.C., David E. Haynes has been representing clients throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia since the firm's foundation in 2002. He focuses his practice on cases involving medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death. Mr. Haynes has obtained more than $100 million in recoveries for his clients as lead counsel through verdicts and settlements.  

Mr. Haynes received his law degree from the University of Richmond. He has since gained significant experience in handling all types of complicated cases such as those concerning gas explosions, police misconduct, drowning and fires. He has won a number of multimillion-dollar victories in both settlement and trial cases, including one of the largest awards in Virginia's history in 2006. He pursues victories with determination and persistence as he fights for clients to win just compensation.

Along with admission to the bar in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, Mr. Haynes is also admitted to practice law before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and the Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He is involved in a number of professional organizations, including serving as President-Elect of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., Diplomat of the National Trial Lawyers Association, and member of the Maryland Association for Justice, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice.

As an active member in his community, Mr. Haynes serves on the Board of Directors for the Frederick B. Abramson Memorial Foundation. The nonprofit agency gives scholarships to struggling high school seniors who plan to further their education, and it gives fellowships to law school graduates who accept nonprofit public interest positions.
