Monique Gilson-Moreau

Monique Gilson-Moreau is a dedicated family law attorney serving clients across King and Snohomish counties. Working from Gilson-Moreau & Associates, P.S., in Bellevue, Washington, she handles matters including divorce, child custody and support, spousal support, adoptions, enforcement of orders, domestic abuse and protection orders. In her years of experience, she has been a litigator, mediator and guardian ad litem for courts.

Currently, Ms. Gilson-Moreau practices family law, primarily in relocation and interstate custody issues and the Indian Child Welfare Act. She has successfully mediated settlements, both directly between private parties and for those represented by attorneys. She is currently admitted to and represents clients in the Lummi Tribal Court. Additionally, she has been appointed by the King County Superior Court as a guardian ad litem in Title II cases and has completed training as a Title 26 guardian ad litem for children in family law cases.

Graduating from the City University of Seattle with a bachelor’s degree, Ms. Gilson-Moreau went on to pursue her legal studies at the Seattle University School of Law (formerly University of Puget Sound School of Law). She earned her Juris Doctor in 1985 and additionally holds a diploma in transnational legal practice from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law. After gaining her license to practice in Washington, she focused on international arbitration before moving her focus to family law.

Ms. Gilson-Moreau is an active member of various associations, including the Lummi Tribal Court Bar and currently serves as the chair of Family Law Basic Skills Training of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Family Law Executive Committee. She previously worked as a board member and CLE committee member of the Domestic Relations Attorneys of Washington. Her continuous contributions to family law have earned her a Notable* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and she maintains a “Superb” rating through Avvo.
