Leta Rae is a member at Chamberlain & Rae PLLC in Bellingham, WA and Seattle, WA. Ms. Rae earned her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in the state of Washington since 2007. Ms. Rae represents individuals in a wide range of matters including family-based cases, waivers of inadmissibility, applications for naturalization and petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Ms. Rae is passionate about advocating for immigrants and enjoys serving people from diverse backgrounds. She dedicates a significant portion of her practice to assisting survivors of gender-based violence to obtain protections under U.S. Immigration Law.
Ms. Rae is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and currently serves as the chair of the AILA Washington ICE Committee. Ms. Rae enjoys finding ways to support immigrants outside of her legal work and founded a local non-profit, IRIS, dedicated to meeting the basic human needs of immigrant women and children.
Ms. Rae's immigration practice is complemented by her experience in international law. She previously worked on cases at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica, studied international law in Geneva, Switzerland, attended the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France and volunteered at a non-profit in Nicaragua.
