Mr. Butler completed his bachelor’s degree in secondary education in 1984 at the University of Portland and his Juris Doctor in 1992 at the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now known as Seattle University School of Law). Before obtaining his law degree, he worked as a teacher. An active Washington licensee, he served as the president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a board member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
